About PDFnaro

PDFnaro is a free collection of 15 PDF tools that run entirely inside your web browser. You can merge and split documents, compress large files, convert between PDF, images and Word, add passwords and watermarks, number pages, and pull text or images out of a PDF — even from scanned pages using optical character recognition. There are no accounts to create, no watermarks stamped on your work, and no daily usage limits.

Why we built PDFnaro

Almost every free PDF tool online works the same way: you upload your document to a company’s server, it is processed there, and the result is sent back to you. That is fine for something trivial, but most PDFs are not trivial. They are contracts, bank statements, medical letters, tax forms and ID scans — exactly the kind of thing you would not want sitting on a stranger’s server, however briefly.

We built PDFnaro to remove that trade-off entirely. Every tool on the site does its work on your own device, so you can edit sensitive documents with the convenience of an online tool and the privacy of desktop software.

Private by design

When you open a tool and add a file, the processing happens locally in your browser using modern web technology. Your document is never uploaded, stored or transmitted anywhere — it stays on your device from the moment you add it to the moment you download the result. You can confirm this yourself: load a tool, disconnect from the internet, and it will keep working, because there is no server involved.

A practical consequence of this design is that we genuinely cannot see your files. If you email us for support, we have no way to access, recover or inspect anything you worked on — so please never send us your documents.

Who it’s for

PDFnaro is built for anyone who occasionally needs to reshape a PDF and would rather not think hard about privacy while doing it — students combining lecture notes, freelancers preparing invoices, job seekers assembling a résumé, small businesses handling contracts, and anyone who has ever been told their attachment is "too large to send". Because everything runs in the browser, it works the same on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iPhone, in any modern browser.

How the site stays free

Running the site costs money, so PDFnaro is supported by unobtrusive advertising. Ads never interrupt your work or touch your files, and you can decline advertising cookies at any time and keep using every tool exactly as before. We do not sell data, because there is no document data for us to collect in the first place.
